Parent Governor Vacancy

One of our long standing Parent Governors has resigned as both his children have moved on to high school.  We have a vacancy for a Parent Governor.

It's a really rewarding role and offers a real opportunity to bring your skills and experience to shape the direction of the school and to ensure that the pupils get the very best education and experiences that will provide a springboard to happy and productive futures.

As a parent governor, your role is:

  • To bring a parental perspective to the issues discussed – you're not there to speak 'on behalf' of the parent body
  • No different from other governors (read more on the link below!)

Information about the qualifications and disqualifications regarding taking a Governor role are here.

Our Governing Body meet 6 times per year and are also expected to visit school in a monitoring capacity once or twice per year.

The next step is to nominate yourself or someone you think would be a great Governor.  Look out for the letter and nomination paper in your child's bag.

Letter to parents regarding Governor vacancy

Once we have the nominations (by September 23rd) we will ask you to submit a short statement which is then distributed to all parents - after which an election is held. If we only have one nomination then there is no ballot and the nominee will be appointed.

Don't hesitate to contact the Clerk to Governors below if you'd like any further information.
